Help with HTML & CSS background image "stacking"?

So, I am creating a website and I would like an image to repeat vertically based on how large the page is, but only show complete versions of the image (meaning that there wont be part of the image shown, only the image in its entirety). I would prefer to do this in HTML & CSS only. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance!
